If you want to take the first steps in an artistic career, Sesc Minas is offering free dance lessons. Registration is open until February 7th, for children from 7 to 12 years and can be made at SESC Cenario in Rua Viana do Castelo, 679, in São Francisco.
The courses are offered by the Sesc Dance Training Center and are geared towards the training of children. In all, there are 60 places and the course is totally free. To participate in the training, students also receive transportation and snack vouchers.

There are 60 places available, of which 20 for Group 1 (7 to 9 years old), 20 for Group 2 (10 to 12 years old) and 20 for Group 3 (8 to 10 years old).

Classes of Groups 1 and 3 occur on Mondays and Wednesdays, from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm; those of Group 2, on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Criteria for registration:

Be between 7 and 12 years of age, up to the beginning of the course, and be a student regularly enrolled in the public or private school.

Be, preferably, dependent on a worker in the goods, services and tourism trade, with gross monthly family income of up to three minimum wages.

Present the Registration Form, the Socioeconomic Questionnaire and the Self Declaration of Income duly completed and signed.

The registration must be done in person by the responsible of the candidate in the SESC Cenario (Viana do Castelo Street, 679, São Francisco), until February 7th, from Monday to Friday, from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm.

The definitive result will be released on February 14th.

Registration must be done from February 15th to 19th.

For Groups 1 and 2, classes will start on February 18th. For Group 3, classes start on February 19th.
About the Center for Dance Training
In 2017, Sesc in Minas Gerais launched the Dance Training Center, with the objective of offering children from 7 to 12 years of age the basic dance training, based on the educational, theoretical and practical experience of the specifics of Classical, Modern Contemporary and Popular Brazilian Dance. The classes take place in the same unit where the professional dancers of the Sesc Dance Company rehearse, which allows for dialogue and exchange of experiences.
The period of participation in the Dance Training Center is three consecutive years. The course is divided into three cycles with different and progressive content. At the end of this period, the student will have completed the didactic program.
